Celtic Knot - Elena

Celtic Knots date back to the 5th Century and are infinitely intricate. Ancient monks used Celtic Knots to illuminate manuscripts such as the famous Book of Kells. The Celts believed that life was never ending and that continuous re-birth would allow complete spiritual fulfillment and this belief became the inspiration for the many knots.

This particular Celtic Knot emphasizes the power of three – in ancient times it is believed that the number three referred to land, water and air. As Christianity advanced the number three came to refer to The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.
