The Crann Bethadh, usually a gigantic oak, was the center of the Celts’ encampment. It provided shelter, warmth and food for all. The Crann Bethadh had large branches reaching upwards and roots spreading deeply below symbolizing the Druids’ belief in that the tree was a link between heaven and the other world.
