Celtic Trinity Knot Unisex Circle Pendant Necklace – Glenys
This popular pendant features Celtic knotwork and a Trinity knot at its center.
The Trinity knot is an ancient symbol of Christianity and it is believed that it predates the crucifix by hundreds of years. The Trinity may best be described as three interlocking circles. The power of three was very important to the Celts and this symbol may well have depicted air, water and earth. Upon the adoption of Christianity the Trinity came to represent The Father, The Son and Holy Spirit.
The Celts believed that all things on earth were inter-connected and, to obtain complete spiritual fulfillment, continuous rebirth was necessary. This belief was the inspiration for the many Celtic Knots. On this pendant you see a clear sample of a continuous knot encircling the Trinity Knot.
The pendant is handcrafted in .925 sterling silver. Several chain options are available. Pendant height 1.3"
