The Celtic Tree of Life was an important part of the lives of Celts. The revered Tree was the provider of protection, warmth and food. It was believed that the Tree held spiritual powers. It was also believed that the Tree was the doorway to the other world, the fairy kingdom. The Celtic name for oak is ‘daur’. The Oak was also a symbol of strength, longevity and wisdom!
Rose Gold Circled Triskele
This is a charming Triskele pendant! It is made from .925 sterling silver and the circle overlaid with rose gold. An added feature is the amethyst cubic zirconium in the center. The actual Triskele is highly polished silver and the whole look is very attractive! It comes with an 18" silver chain.
To the Celts, the spiral held a very significant meaning and it is the oldest of all the Celtic symbols. The Triskele, or triple spiral, originally represented the Triple Goddess – namely the three generations of womanhood being the maiden, the mother and the grandmother (the Crone) making this pendant very suitable as a generational gift to celebrate family. The Triskele was also known to represent the elements – air, water and earth. It has also been associated with the three lunar stages of waxing, waning and full moon. With the advent of Christianity the Triskele’s meaning changed and today it is widely recognized as being indicative of the power of three – The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.
Made by one of our Irish design partners in Dublin, this pendant bears a stamp from the Assay Office in Dublin Castle guaranteeing it has been lovingly handcrafted in Ireland.
